In order to implement the spirit of relevant documents of the state and Hubei Province concerning the construction of "Double First-Class" disciplines and talent cultivation. From August 11th to 18th, 2024, through selection, our college and the Technical Research Institute organized a study tour group consisting of 17 students to go to Nanyang Technological University in Singapore for a 7-day study tour and practicalactivities.
This study tour program is hosted by Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. The program courses mainly cover fields such as molecular and materials science, modern textile industry, nanotechnology and textile materials, 3D printing and other cutting-edge technologies. Through diversified teaching methods such as frontier academic lectures, thematic teaching, and group presentations, innovative learning and scientific research exploration under the cross-cultural communication and exchange mechanism are achieved. After completing the program courses and passing the project assessment, the students participating in the program can obtain the official completion certificate and transcript from Nanyang Technological University. During the program, the students of our university also carried out exchange activities with doctoral students majoring in materials from Nanyang Technological University and the National University of Singapore. Through sharing and interaction, they learned more about the frontier scientific research trends in the field of materials.
Besides the study tour, the students also visited government institutions such as the Urban Redevelopment Authority (Urban Planning Bureau) and the Monetary Authority of Singapore on the spot to understand the general situation of Singapore's urban planning and financial development. While having a more comprehensive understanding of Singapore, it also broadened the international horizons of the students. Everyone said that during the immersive professional learning and practical experience at Nanyang Technological University, they not only learned about the frontier academic trends in the field of textile materials but also fully appreciated the unique charm of the collision between Eastern and Western cultures and gained a lot.
